Product Update - October 2024

This month, we’re thrilled to unveil ad-hoc formulas for Luzmo Flex, custom period-over-period comparisons (beta), search filter widget, and more.

Ad-Hoc Formulas

We’ve streamlined the formula creation in Luzmo Flex to make it more intuitive and easier to manage. 

With ad-hoc formulas, you can now write and apply formulas directly in your Flex code. This removes the need to predefine and store formulas, which can be cumbersome when you only need to use a formula once or when you expect to use many slightly different formulas. 

It also allows you to test and modify formulas on the fly, making it easier to iterate and quickly refine results. 

Spend less time on formula creation and focus more on building unique data products that deliver more value to your users.

Period-Over-Period Comparisons (Beta) 

This is a highly anticipated feature that simplifies data comparison across different time intervals. It’s ideal if you want to track trends in sales, financial, logistics, and more. 

In selected charts and tables, you can set measure columns to show historical values from predefined periods. 

Period selection is easily customizable through filters, whether you’re looking at monthly sales, year-on-year growth, or quarter-to-quarter performance.

Search Filter Widget

We’ve introduced a new search filter widget in the dashboard editor to help you find the information you need, faster.

To get started, click “Add items” and add the search filter to your dashboard. This powerful widget lets you search for specific values in columns (e.g. everything that contains a keyword) or select multiple rows using a loose search, such as rows with a certain tag, keyword or part of a keyword.

This search filter opens up new ways for your customers to quickly analyze their data. It’s especially useful when analyzing unstructured data like support tickets, e-mails, churn reasons, and survey responses.

Improved Spatial Visualization

Luzmo now supports querying geographical features directly from PostGIS (PostgreSQL's GIS extension for geometry type) or SQL server (for geometry/geography types). 

Previously, you had to upload geographical features as static datasets for spatial visualization, but now you can also pull dynamic GIS data directly from your databases.

This update improves your spatial visualizations with greater flexibility and real-time data integration. It also gives you the ability to have separate filtered features per client, do feature manipulation with SQL datasets, load data with features to avoid (triple) joins, and more.
